Itinerary idea in detail

  • Upon arrival in Yangon, you will be met by an Audley representative and transferred to your hotel. After settling into your accommodation, you will have the afternoon free to explore at your leisure.

  • This morning, you will join your guide for an interesting walking tour of Yangon's colonial district before having the afternoon free to explore the city's streets and markets. This evening, you will accompany your guide to the Shwedagon Pagoda at sunset before having some drinks on 19th Street.

  • Today you will journey out of the city boundaries and visit Bago and the Htauk Kyant War Memorial Cemetery.

  • This morning, you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the airport in time to catch your flight to Heho. Upon arrival in Heho, your guide will meet you and transfer you to Inle Lake, where you will check in to your hotel. The evening is free to explore at your leisure.

  • Today, you will venture onto Inle Lake for a full day exploration.

  • This morning, you will transfer to Kalaw via the caves at Pindaya.

  • Morning exploring Kalaw before journeying north to Mandalay. Your evening is free to explore at your own leisure.

  • Today you will board the RV Katha Pandaw and begin your cruise along the upper Ayeyarwady.

  • Today you will visit the charming pottery village of Kyuak-Myuong.

  • Take a morning stop at Khanyat before climbing Pagoda Hill and enjoying wonderful views over the Ayeyarwady.

  • Arrive at the enchanting colonial town of Katha, the setting for George Orwell's Burmese Days.

  • Visit Kyun Daw village and venture around the countless small pagodas.

  • Cruise through the second defile, a dramatic towering gorge.

  • Explore the ancient city of Tagaung and its fortifications on foot.

  • Visit Mingun before disembarking the cruise in Mandalay. Upon arrival in Mandalay, you will be met by your guide and taken to your hotel. The afternoon is free to explore the city at your own leisure.

  • Today you will journey south toward Myanmar's central plains and the magnificent archaeological site at Bagan. On route, you will have the opportunity to stop off at the small township of Pakokku for some refreshments.

  • Full day exploring the temples of Bagan.

  • A second full day exploring the temples and Bagan township.

  • Today you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the airport for your onward flight.
