Day 1 Kathmandu

Arrive into Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. You might like to wander into the centre of the city to explore the markets and food stalls - a great spot to try some momos (local dumplings).

Day 2 Kathmandu

Kathmandu

Explore Kathmandu and the Kathmandu Valley, visiting a selection of temples including Swayambhunath, Bodnath Stupa and Pashupatinath - a sacred Hindu temple. You're accompanied by a driver and experienced guide who can explain the history and cultural importance of each site.

Day 3 Pokhara

Kathmandu , Pokhara

Take a short flight to Pokhara. Enjoy an afternoon to explore the second largest city in Nepal. The gateway to the Himalayas, Pokhara is laid out alongside a lake with the snowcapped views of the eaks jutting out beyond. There are a number of museums to explore including the International Mountain Museum which will give you a taster of what's to come.

Day 4 Birethanti

Pokhara , Birethanti

Begin your three day trek today, walking through Nepalese villages and hamlets before heading upwards into the foothills. Staying overnight in a luxury lodge with views right across the Himalayas.

Day 5 Ghandruk

Birethanti , Ghandruk

Hike up to the bustling village of Ghandruk for an overnight stay. Along the route you are likely to pass children on their way to school and locals carrying a variety of goods. Once you've arrived, there's time to explore the village if you have the energy.

Day 6 Pokhara

Ghandruk , Pokhara

Hike back down from the hills, passing more unique scenery and small villages. On reaching the road, you're driven back to Pokhara. Spend the night in Pokhara. I you have the time, you might like to walk to a local restaurant to sample some local food.

Day 7 Bandipur

Pokhara , Bandipur

Travel to the medieval Newari town of Bandipur. This well-preserved town has many fine examples of 18th century architecture, as well as small cafes, shops and temples. The afternoon is free to wander the cobbled streets.

Day 8 Chitwan

Bandipur , Chitwan

Travel from Bandipur to Chitwan National Park. On arrival you'll check in to a wildlife lodge and have the evening to relax. You might like to enjoy drinks in the hotel bar or star gaze in this area of minimal light pollution.

Day 9 Chitwan

Chitwan

Today you will have a full day exploring the park. There are plenty of activities, including jungle walks, elephant safaris, river safaris and jeep safaris. Hopefully you will be able to spot some of the one-horned rhino that reside here.

Chitwan

Another full day of activities in Chitwan. Your days can be tailored to your interests, if you're keen on birdwatching you might enjoy a river safari to see some of the migrating bird species.

Day 11 Dhulikhel

Chitwan , Bharatpur , Kathmandu , Dhulikhel

This morning you should have the time to do another activity, before leaving the jungle for your flight back to Kathmandu. On arrival you will continue on to Dhulikhel, a pretty mountain resort.

Dhulikhel

Enjoy a spectacular sunrise over the Himalaya if you manage to wake early today. Today is free to enjoy your mountain resort, you might like to take a walk in the local area.

Transfer to the airport for your return flights home.
