Highlights of Lisbon & Marrakesh

Today, enjoy a full-day tour of the city's most important districts, from the waterfront Baixa to the rambling heights of Bairro Alto. After lunch, head out to Belém to visit Jerónimos Monastery and the elaborate Torre de Belém.

Venture outside of Lisbon to explore nearby Sintra, which Portugal's ancient Celts believed to be a place of mystical power. The occult-inspired Quinta da Regaleira reflects that belief in its mythological symbolism and hidden grottoes. You can also enjoy towering views from the Palácio da Pena and Palácio Nacional, then eat lunch in town before returning to Lisbon.

Continue your adventure today as you fly south across the Mediterranean to Marrakesh in Morocco. A driver will be waiting to take you from the airport directly into the High Atlas Mountains to a relaxing kasbah-hotel where you can soak up the views.

There will be time to explore more sweeping scenery today on a guided hike through the Ourika Valley with a guide. The hiking routes vary from easy to difficult, so your guide can tailor the hike to suit you. En route, stop in a traditional village to spend some time with a local family in their home, sharing stories over a cup of mint tea.

Today, you will travel back to Marrakesh and your riad, located in the medina's heart. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the roof terrace or explore the souqs.

Enjoy a full-day tour of Marrakesh, visiting the main historical sites such as the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace and the Jewish Quarter. The afternoon will focus on the city's cultural side, winding your way through the different artisan areas within the souqs. End the day with dinner in the Djemaa el Fna, which comes alive with food stalls, henna artists, scribes and musical performers each evening.

Today, there will be time to explore one final highlight in Morocco, the Hassan II Mosque, an exquisite example of Moroccan architecture located around two and half hours away in Casablanca. After your tour, travel to Casablanca International Airport for your flight home.
