It was a Boston-based travel industry internship that originally sparked Jess's desire to see the world and apply to spend a semester abroad at Bond University, Australia. As her program wrapped up, Jess wasn't at all ready to leave, so she took a spur of the moment trip to New Zealand and renewed her Australian visa to stay an additional six months. While in New Zealand she fell in love with the breath taking scenery and the incredibly hospitable locals. After living in Australia for a year, she reluctantly made her way back to Boston - knowing that this was just a start. Several months later she was accepted to do a two month program in Bali, Indonesia, where her wanderlust grew even more. She has always been intrigued by the ocean, so snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef is one of her most memorable experiences. The laid back lifestyle of the Australian people is one of her favorite things about the country and she loves going to airy beach towns like Byron Bay when visiting.

I'll never forget when…
One of the most memorable moments I had in Australia was doing a Sunrise tour to Kata Tjuta. Everything was quiet and still walking up to the rock but as we got closer a group of kangaroos came out of nowhere to cross the path right in front of us. In addition to the beauty of the rock, our small group was silent as we all watched them in their early morning routine.
