Day 1 London
Upon arrival at Heathrow Airport, meet your private driver to be whisked to your hotel. After settling into your hotel and freshening up from your flight, you're picked up in a vintage Mini Cooper and taken on a two hour orientation of the city. Your driver can point out major landmarks such as Harrods, Westminster Abbey and Trafalgar Square.
Day 2 London
Your driver and guide pick you up at your hotel today to see the Changing of the Guards at Buckingham Palace, stopping along the way to view the Prince Albert memorial. In the afternoon, drive by car to Windsor, the oldest and largest inhibited castle in the world. Enjoy lunch in the lovely village of Windsor itself before exploring the castle in the late afternoon. See if the Queen is in residence by looking out for the royal standard and her beloved Corgis.
Day 3 London
Today is all about the Tudors. Set on the left bank of the Thames is the imposing Tower of London which was used as a jail, fortress and royal residence during the Tudor era. With your private guide see where Anne Boleyn stayed before her coronation and execution, the crown jewels and watch out for Traitor's gate. As you travel outside London with your guide, step into the world of Henry VIII, Bloody Mary and Elizabeth I by exploring Hampton Court. Your guide is able to point out influences left by each of Henry's six wives.
Day 4 Edinburgh
Make your way to the train station and board for your journey to Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city. Aboard your train enjoy the sights of northern England as you pass its fields, forests and villages. Upon arrival in Edinburgh, make your way to your centrally located hotel. In the afternoon, head to the outskirts of the city to tour Her Majesty's yacht, The Royal Britannia. In service from 1954-1997, explore this grand yacht by yourself and see how it ran and how the royals lived aboard, all perfectly preserved.
Day 5 Edinburgh
This morning your driver-guide picks you up at your hotel to take you on a walking and driving tour of Edinburgh's old and new towns. Explore Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, the ancient marketplace Grassmarket and walk up Arthur's Seat for views right across the city. In the afternoon, your driver drops you off at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the home of Scottish royalty and the Queen's official residence when she's in Edinburgh. Here you can see the chambers of Mary, Queen of Scots.
