Ko’a Kea Hotel & Resort

Kauaʻi, The USA

Ko’a Kea Hotel & Resort

Known as the ‘garden isle’, Kauaʻi has some of the most dramatic scenery and best beaches of the Hawaiian islands. The Ko’a Kea Hotel & Resort is a great base for your stay here if you are looking for a quieter, more intimate atmosphere but a high level of service.

With just 121 rooms, Ko'a Kea (meaning 'white coral') is much smaller than other resorts in the area and has the feel of a boutique property, with its low rise exterior contrasting with the newer high rise buildings found elsewhere. While it may not offer the wide range of facilities and amenities found at other resorts, those it does offer are of a high standard, reflecting the attentive service you will find here. It also has an enviable location just 25 metres from the beach.

Many of the rooms have wonderful ocean views, and all feature a private lanai (balcony) to enjoy them from. They are packed full of amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible, with flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, high speed internet access, ceiling fans and air conditioning, hair dryers, safes and Nespresso machines included in all rooms, along with a private bathroom. Guests can choose to have a king size bed or two doubles, and there are two suite categories for those wishing for more space and comfort.

A spa offers a full treatment menu for guests looking for complete relaxation, while the onsite fitness centre is there for those who want to keep up their exercise routine. Of course, there is also the swimming pool with a poolside bar, as well as a whirlpool, and guests are welcome to rent equipment for beach and water-based activities from the beach activities hut, including snorkelling gear, surf boards, boogie boards and beach chairs.

The onsite restaurant, Red Salt, takes advantage of its island location by serving fresh seafood straight from Hawaii's waters. Its oceanfront setting, large picture windows and open-plan layout provide a wonderful atmosphere in which to dine after a day in the sun.
