Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Boston. Today you will arrive in Boston, collect your vehicle and drive north to the small historic town of Portland, Maine. The remaining part of the day is at leisure to explore Old Town and the local restaurants and breweries.

  • Spend half the day taking a guided walking tour and exploring Portland and its artisanal shops, restaurants and pubs. With your guide, you will get to explore a mixture of classic Maine-inspired food and meet the shop owners. In the afternoon, you have some leisure time to explore the local museums and culture.

  • Depart from Portland and head along the Maine coast about three hours to Surrey, Maine, just shy of Bar Harbor. You will stay here for the next three nights to give you time to explore Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

  • This morning, drive into Bar Harbor for a half-day lobster boat tour that will take you out into the harbour to see how lobsters are caught, hauled in and harvested. In the afternoon, you have time to explore some of Acadia National Park or the beaches and museums around Bar Harbor.

  • Spend the day at leisure exploring Acadia National Park. There are miles of hiking and scenic drives to do here!

  • Depart Bar Harbor area and head just a short distance down the coastline to the small town of Lincolnville. Here you will find picturesque harbours and a selection of galleries and restaurants to explore.

  • Today is at leisure to explore Lincolnville and the surrounding islands. We recommend heading to Camden Hills State Park to explore the beautiful mountains.

  • At your leisure, continue south down the coast of Maine to the small town of Ogunquit, where you will spend the last two nights along the coast.

  • Spend the day at leisure at your hotel or explore the small towns of Kennebunkport and Ogunquit.

  • Finish your trip by driving down the coast to Boston, in time for your onward flight.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
