Montage Palmetto Bluff
There are a range of accommodation options at Montage Palmetto Bluff and they are spread out across the resort. Guests over 16 can stay in the rooms in the Main Inn, while families might prefer the cosy cottages. There are also suites. All rooms are spacious and furnished in a coastal Southern style with Wi-Fi, marble bathrooms and premium amenities. Some of the suites have fireplaces and balconies.
Montage Palmetto Bluff sits on the banks of the May River just two hours’ drive from Charleston. A 25-minute drive will bring you to Bluffton, a small town with plenty of boutique shops and independent cafes. The resort isn't within walking distance of the town, but there are plenty of restaurants on site.
Food and drink
There are plenty of dining options for guests at the Bluff. Visit Octagon Porch for a taste of elegant Southern cuisine in a sophisticated setting, enjoy a pizza at Buffalo's for a more casual experience, or try local seafood at the Canoe Club while overlooking the May River. Cole's is the Bluff's version of a gastropub and The Canteen offers grab-and-go-style breakfasts and lunches. There are a number of bars and lounges guests can relax in as well, and in-room dining can be arranged easily.
The hotel is family-friendly and caters well for young children. Please note, only those aged over 16 can stay in the Main Inn building.
Facilities and activities
The resort has a spa, a gym, a swimming pool and a number of restaurants catering to a variety of tastes on site. There's also a grocery store that sells hand-crafted gifts and an evening culinary programme. Sports-wise, you'll find a shooting club, bowling and games room, stables with horses, a canoe club, tennis courts, and golf courses. The resort also runs a number of wildlife-watching trips out on the water.
Encompassing a laid-back yet luxurious atmosphere, we think Montage Palmetto Bluff has perfected the balance of relaxation and exploration. We also like its prime location on the banks of the May River and its evening culinary programme is a great way to be introduced to Southern traditions.
