About our charity work
As part of our commitment to responsible tourism, in early 2005 we formed the ‘Audley Charity Portfolio’, which originally comprised five organisations we chose to actively support.
This has now evolved into an initiative where we have selected charities which involve countries across our range of programmes.
These charities are intended to help a wide variety of causes from wildlife, human rights issues and education, through to the environment and conservation.
Hannan School
Hannan School was founded in June 2002 by Hmad and Hannah Naatit, with a vision to bring education and hope to the Berber village of El Borj in the remote Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
A recent World Bank report quoted Morocco as having one of the worst standards of education in the Arab world. To help combat this problem Hannan has a long term aim to construct a modern, spacious, well equipped school to provide a good standard of easily accessible education to the local community.
In the shorter term the organisation has purchased a smaller building in the village which will serve as a Pre School and community centre whilst a sponsorship scheme currently supports over 60 children through their education.
Audley’s North Africa and Arabia team support the charity through a donation from the company as well as fundraising activities.
