This quirky lodge has a great location in the Mindo cloud forest two to three hours' drive from Quito. Settled at 1,300 meters, the lodge owns approximately 110 acres of forest boasting around 300 species of birds, including 30 species of hummingbirds.
The main living/dining area is a large, open-plan space with views out to the surrounding forest and several fireplaces to warm the chilly evenings. Accommodation comes in the form of six individual log cabins, which are simply furnished but a comfortable size and private hot-water bathrooms.
