Evening bazaar, crafts and cuisine in Jaipur

Jaipur is widely considered by many as the craft capital of India. Since 1727, royal families and nobles have purchased goods here, created by the craftsmen and artisans whose traditional techniques are still used today.

On this interesting walk with your guide you will see these craftsmen busy in their workshops in the oldest parts of the Pink City. They’ll be working on fine forms of local art like Zardozi embroidery, Gota work, Kinari, silver ornament work as well as precious and semi-precious stonework.

You will also have the opportunity to mingle with locals whilst sampling some culinary delights; your guide will purchase pakoras, aloo tikki, samosa and sweets from some of the city’s most popular street food vendors to try along the way.

The walk generally lasts between one and a half and two hours, and starts late afternoon (4.30/5pm), which is a great time to explore. However, please be aware that these are very old marketplaces used almost entirely by local people, hence you should be prepared for hustle and bustle and lack of cleanliness in the streets.
