My earliest childhood memories involve travelling with my favourite teddy bear and having my hair plaited in Africa. Whenever I’ve changed jobs there has often been a small gap, which I’ve used to travel, and tick off places or experiences from my ‘bucket list.’
I’ve been fortunate to travel the world extensively, experiencing many cultures and traditions all while gathering wonderful memories which I always treasure. I love watching wildlife in their natural habitats and I’m always mesmerised by colourful sealife. I’m a huge beach lover so couldn’t be better suited to the destinations I am specialising in, all of which I have visited on a number of occasions. What’s the best local dish you’ve tasted?
Potato and mixed herb samosas in Mauritius. Made more delicious by the fact that I learned how to make them at a local ladies’ house which was a great experience.
What’s your most vivid travel moment?
After dinner on a Heritage Desert Safari in Dubai the lights were all turned off in the camp so we could gaze at the stars. They educated us about how to find the North Star and pointed out Jupiter which we thought was a star. During a quiet moment as I was looking up at the sky, I saw a shooting star which was a truly magical experience. An amazing ending to a wonderful day.
Where would you love to travel next?
I have a long list of places I’d like to visit but Madagascar is high up there. It’s somewhere I’ve wanted to travel to due to the diversity of its wildlife and scenery. I’d love to see the iconic baobab trees and explore the different environments from rainforests to beaches.
