Itinerary idea in detail

Private customized tour. Ask us about booking your international flights at our preferred rates.

  • When you arrive in Salzburg, your driver will take you to your hotel, where you can relax before spending the evening at Hohensalzburg Fortress, where you’ll enjoy dinner during a classical music concert. The fortress was the backdrop to many Salzburg scenes from the film.

  • With your private driver-guide, embark on a full-day exploration of all things Sound of Music. This driving and walking tour will take you to Nonnberg Abbey, where Maria was a novice, the Mirabell Gardens and Pegasus Fountain where they sing Do, Re, Mi, and Hellbrunn Palace with its glass gazebo, among other sites.

  • This morning, your driver-guide will meet you at your hotel for a trip just over the German border for a visit to Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest residence. While the scenery is breathtaking, you’ll also learn about the grim history surrounding the residence and its former owner.

  • This morning your private driver-guide will bring you to Saint-Wolfgang, where you’ll spend the remaining three nights. Here, you’ll embark on a walking tour of the town that was featured in the opening credits of The Sound of Music. In the evening, take a private boat tour of Lake Wolfgang.

  • This morning, set out with your private guide to hike in the mountainous area of the Salzkammergut region. Many of the film’s scenes were shot amid these soaring peaks and glassy lakes, and you can walk away with scenic photos taken during this intermediate hike.

  • Today, visit Hallstatt for a walking tour before exploring the lakeside town’s historic salt mines.

  • Say ‘so long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye’ to Austria. A driver will take you to the airport for your onward flight.
