Things to do in Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan’s snow-capped mountains, sapphire lakes and alpine scenery are a complete contrast to the scorched plains and arid deserts of its neighbors, and one of the most rewarding ways to explore is on a hike through the Ala Archa National Park.

Other things to do include a city tour of Bishkek, the nation’s capital, where you can visit the state museum to learn about Stalinist history, or a visit to the highly traditional Jeti-Ögüz valley, just 30 minutes outside the city, where you can experience local life with a stay in a traditional yurt.
