Exit Glacier Lodge

Exit Glacier Lodge

Seward, The US

Exit Glacier Lodge is a simple, authentically Alaskan lodge with a clapboard façade and decking, and is located near the harbor town of Seward.

It’s ideally situated for exploring both the town and the nearby Kenai Fjords National Park. Set in the Resurrection River Valley below Exit Glacier, the lodge enjoys a peaceful woodland setting and is the starting point for many good hiking trails. It’s also located opposite a characterful pub which offers hearty food, including (as you might expect) plenty of seafood options, as well as good microbrews and wines.

Some rooms have balconies and all are furnished in an honest, homespun style.

OUR OPINION:

A simple character lodge, ideally located for those wanting to walk and explore the Exit Glacier area.

The loft includes a kitchen and living area, a double bedroom on the first floor, and three single beds, making it ideal for families.

In the evening, you can dine at the Salmon Bake Restaurant and Pub which is located just across the road from the main lodge and serves Alaskan seafood, steaks and burgers. The pub is open from 5pm to 10pm. Alternatively, you’re not far from the town of Seward, which has a number of excellent restaurants to choose from.
