Pongwe is a small hotel on the northeast coast of Zanzibar, on an isolated and idyllic beach. Whitewashed bungalows are set among the coconut palms, with verandas facing onto the Indian Ocean.

Under the makuti thatch roofs the rooms have cool terrazzo flooring, and mosquito nets are draped over traditional Zanzibari beds. The food is exceptional and high standards are maintained by the kitchen at Pongwe.
