The building is a beautiful example of Spanish Colonial architecture and many of its original features have been preserved to this day.

The hotel has a restaurant with refined and authentic cuisine and the bar is built over an ancient crypt which was the inspiration to Gabriel Garcia Marquez's novel "Of Love and other Demons".
