Although the resort sits on quite a large area, there are only 64 luxuriously appointed suites set amongst the beautifully manicured gardens or along the beachfront.
The rooms have a fresh, bright, contemporary décor with plenty of space and all of the comforts you would expect including air-conditioning, ceiling fan, flat screen TV, DVD player, iPod docking station, Wi-Fi, complimentary stocked mini bar and a terrace or balcony.
The resort is set on the beautiful Grand Anse Beach, one of the best on the island. Rightly popular with both locals and visitors, the beach is large enough that it never feels crowded and the southern end, where Spice Island sits, is the quietest bit.
There is a good choice of restaurants, bars and shops in the area and the capital, St George’s is only ten minutes’ drive.
Food and drink
Spice Island is great for foodies too and is known for its gourmet cuisine and fine wines.
The stylish, open-air Oliver’s Restaurant offers a fine dining atmosphere serving à la carte breakfast and dinner daily. The menu changes every night and features excellent international cuisine as well as authentic local specialities.
The Sea & Surf Terraces is open for lunch, afternoon tea, drinks and snacks.
Although the majority of guests are couples, Spice Island welcomes children and offers a children’s activity centre for ages 3-12 years, as well as a babysitting service. The beach is good for families as it shelves gently and the waters are sheltered.
There is a separate dining area for children under 5 in the evenings.
The resort has a concierge service who will happily book car hire or any excursions you wish to do whilst on the island. Some popular options are the trips to various waterfalls, a visit to the Grenada Chocolate Factory, a nutmeg producing plant, or the rum distillery at Lake Antoine. You can also do many round island tours incorporating several attractions in one day.
This elegant, sophisticated resort offers luxurious accommodation on a stunning beach coupled with friendly, personal service that keeps guests returning time and time again.
