Amber

Indian Subcontinent Specialist

My love for travel began at a very young age, as I explored and trekked most of the UK costal paths with my family. This helped ignite my lifetime goal, to see the world.

After doing multiple trips across Europe, I found myself starting a career in travel where I have spent the past twenty years. In this time I have enjoyed working in multiple fields in the industry, which has helped widen my knowledge, as well as ticking more countries off the list along the way. Since starting at Audley, I've had the pleasure of exploring many parts of north and south of India, Bhutan, and Nepal. I enjoy sharing my passion for the culture and diversity of these countries with my clients.

In my spare time I can be found exploring the Cotswolds with my family and planning the next adventure to somewhere new.

Start planning your trip to India & the Himalaya with Amber

Norbulingka Institute, Dharamshala

I recommend visiting - Dharamshala & McLeod Ganj, India

Dharamasala gives you a taste of being away from things, with its panoramic views over the Himalayan Mountains. There's an abundance of sights to explore such as the Norbulingka Institute, introduced to preserve the culture and skills of the Tibetan people, to the Dharamkot Waterfall, or simply take a walk through the forests full of pine trees, oak trees and rhododendron.

Chanoud Garh

I recommend staying at - Chanoud Garh, India

Medium

Chanoud Garh is truly an amazing place, located in a small village away from the sounds and bright lights of the city. The Singh family really make your stay truly special by their friendly nature, their vast knowledge of the local area and the traditional home cooked meals. Where else can you be taken to a local school, hospital or simply out to enjoy a peaceful high tea set within beautiful countryside.

I'll never forget when…

Watching the sunset at Bada Bagh, just on the outskirts of Jaisalmer was a wonderful experience. Setting off by camel into the desert, which links India to Pakistan, I witnessed the natural beauty of miles of sand dunes surrounding me. Then, on top of this watching the sun slowly set for the day and all the magnificent colors that this entailed. It was a wonderful end to the day and a great way to feel apart from your normal day-to-day life. Highly recommended.
