Indian Ocean Specialist

My passion for travel began at a very young age, inspired by vacations with my parents and a growing fascination with aviation and aircraft. As a child, I mainly explored destinations across Europe, but those early experiences sparked a lifelong curiosity about the wider world. At just 16, I secured an apprenticeship in the travel industry, turning that enthusiasm into a career. More than 32 years later, I am proud to still be working in the industry I love with Audley.

I have been fortunate to live a colorful life of travel. My career has taken me across the globe — from the turquoise waters to a couple of exciting seasons working in Formula One. These experiences allow me to share genuine insight and create meaningful, tailor-made journeys for my clients.

What's your most vivid travel moment?

One of my most vivid travel moments was a recent journey to the Seychelles, a destination that had long been on my wish list. From Mahé, I boarded a private helicopter, flying over crystal-clear waters and coral reefs — an unforgettable introduction to the islands. We landed on Denis Island, where I spent two magical nights surrounded by untouched nature and complete tranquillity. During my stay, I met Toby, a remarkable 128-year-old tortoise, and had the pleasure of feeding the tortoises in their pen, a wonderfully humbling and memorable experience.

What's the one thing you always pack?

I always say my most important travel essential is my husband — I pack him first. He’s far more useful than any gadget: chief navigator, chief coffee finder, and the calm voice when journeys get complicated. He carries the bags when my shopping gets ambitious and shares every new experience, from hidden cafes to far-flung beaches. While I may organise the itinerary, he brings balance, humour, and perspective, reminding me to slow down and enjoy the moment. After all, destinations are incredible, but traveling is always better when you bring someone who makes every adventure even more memorable.

Your best piece of travel advice?

If a destination is on your list, don’t keep moving it to “someday.” Someday has a habit of turning into years. I’ve blinked, checked my passport, and wondered where the time went. If you have the time and the means, take the trip now rather than saving it for next year. There'll always be reasons to wait — work, laundry, responsibilities — but adventures rarely happen by accident. Book the flight, pack the bag, and trust that memories are a far better investment than twelve months of maybe. Life doesn’t pause, so neither should your travel plans.
