Gangga is part of the Sangihe Islands, some of which are still unexplored or inhabited, distributed between the Celebes and the Philippines.

It is home to two small villages called Gangga Satu and Gangga Dua, inhabited by Bajau fishermen.

Landscape and geography

The Sangihe Islands are all of volcanic origin, covered with rainforest vegetation and surrounded by coral reef, that helps produce the carbonate white sandy beaches.

Bajau tribes

The Bajau tribes have colonized the coast of Gangga and some of the surrounding islands for a very long time, living in the simplicity of their culture, traditions, renowned friendliness and their relationship with the sea that supports their daily lives.

The waters around Gangga are home to an astonishingly rich variety of flora and fauna providing some of the best diving opportunities in Indonesia, if not the world.
