Day 1 Lima
Day 2 Cuzco
Depending on your flight time to Cuzco there may be time for a tour of Lima, we'd recommend one that takes in a bit of great food and the cathedral, but have plenty of other options too. After that you will fly to Cuzco where you will be met at the airport and driven to your hotel via private transfer. The rest of the day and evening will be yours to enjoy at your leisure as you acclimatize to the high altitude.
Day 3 Cuzco
Enjoy a guided tour of the highlights of Cuzco and nearby Inca ruins this morning. Then, this afternoon your guide will take you on a tour with a difference, discovering and tasting the street food of Cuzco from cuy to corn and an array of candies too.
Day 4 Sacred Valley
Today your guide will take you through the Sacred Valley with stops at one of the most vibrant market's in Peru, the spectacular agricultural terraces of Moray, and the colorful salt pans at Maras. The day will end at your hotel in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Day 5 Sacred Valley
We've included a trek from Chinchero to Urquillos today; it's one of our favorites, but there are many other options of varying levels of difficulty so please do talk to us about what would suit you best.
Day 6 Machu Picchu
Start today with a privately guided tour of the ruins of Ollantaytambo before taking the one and a half hour train journey to Machu Picchu with your guide. If there's time then stop for a drink at the cafe on the platform (they distil their own liqor which is very distinct!) The journey traces the edge of the whitewater Urubamba River as it twists through the increasingly steep-sided valley. From your seat, you’ll spot a series of Incan sites before arriving at Aguas Calientes. After disembarking from the train you will take a short bus journey up to Machu Picchu for your privately guided tour of the Inca citadel.
Day 7 Cuzco
A lot of people like to have this morning free to return to the ruins so that is how we have left it before you return to Cuzco on the train. Your driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel. Enjoy your final night in Cuzco, wander the colonial streets and enjoy a meal in one of the city's excellent restaurants.
