Vintage House Hotel

Douro Valley, Portugal

Located in Pinhão in the heart of the Douro Valley, Vintage House Hotel overlooks the Douro River and is surrounded by hillsides etched with rows of terraced vines. Centrally located within the town and close to restaurants, cafés and bars, it’s easy to explore the area on foot. Several local wineries are also a short walk away.

Most of the 50 spacious rooms have balconies with views of the river and surrounding valley. Classic decor in soothing shades of yellow, blue and white reflects the hotel’s elegant pale-yellow façade and the calming blues of the river.

Outside are palm-dotted grounds, a pool, and terraces laid out with inviting places to sit and take in the view. You can enjoy breakfast in the River Room or out on the terrace. The main restaurant, Rabelo, also opens onto the terrace from its gold and blue interior with vaulted ceilings. You can also relax in the snug Library Bar, where snacks and drinks (including the region’s famous port) are served next to a roaring fire on cooler days.

OUR OPINION:

With its graceful yellow façade overlooking the river, Vintage House Hotel is in a prime location for exploring the Douro Valley. We love the elegant gardens and terraces with views of the vine-combed hills.
