Since its opening in 1902 Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra has been a landmark on the San Sebastián seafront, encapsulating the charm of the early 20th century. With friendly staff and a convenient location overlooking La Concha Bay, it’s easy to see why guests return year after year.
Inside, black-and-white photos and glittering chandeliers recall its days as the premiere spot for the elite to relax by the seaside. The 167 rooms echo the natural hues of the beach and sea with light blues, yellows and earthy reds illuminated by large windows letting in the sunlight. Rooms provide air conditioning, flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi and are all of ample size. Beach towels are also provided.
The hotel’s restaurant, La Brasserie Mari Galant, serves a series of set menus which focus on fresh vegetables and local meat and seafood served in typical Basque style. However, the heart of San Sebastián’s old town, bursting with pintxos (Basque-style tapas) bars, is within an easy five-minute walk.
Bursting with charm and elegance, the Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra remains true to its heritage while at the same offering great levels of modern comfort. We particularly love the uninterrupted sea views.

Rooms
The first six floors of rooms are traditionally styled and echo the understated charm of the hotel when it originally opened, though with all modern amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. The seventh floor attic rooms, however, were constructed later and employ a much more contemporary design, each boasting its own terrace, sun loungers and full or partial sea views.
Location
Overlooking La Concha Bay, the hotel is located just a two-minute walk from the beach, while also being in the heart of San Sebastián. The old town can be reached in just five minutes on foot, and within 15 minutes you can walk to the aquarium and other nearby sights.
Food and drink
La Brasserie Mari Galant is a refined space with floor-to-ceiling windows allowing guests to enjoy their meals with views of the bay. The menu is updated daily in order to keep the emphasis on freshness, concentrating on local vegetables and premium meat and fish, with a special focus on grilled dishes. There is also an expertly curated wine list featuring some of the country’s best vintages.
