The Kingfisher Retreat by Sharjah Collection spans the triangular tip of an unspoiled narrow peninsula, just 20 km (12 miles) south of Fujairah City. It’s bordered on two sides by the pristine waters of the Gulf of Oman and, on the other, by the 300-year-old dense mangroves of Khor Kalba.
Accessible only by boat, the hotel is immersed in nature. It’s home to an on-site conservation hub dedicated to preserving indigenous gazelles, turtles, migratory birds, and crabs, and there’s a raft of experiences on offer to get you closer to the region’s biodiversity. These include kayaking through the mangroves, guided nature walks, and free bicycle hire if you want to explore on your own.
The hotel’s tented guest rooms blend gently into the landscape with their sandy tones, and each boasts a private pool and outdoor seating area from which to spot wildlife and soak up the tranquil surroundings. The on-site Al Qurm Restaurant serves organic regional and international cuisine, while the spa has a range of treatments to further enhance the relaxing atmosphere.

A serene glamping experience in the heart of a peninsular wildlife haven. We loved kayaking past the dense mangroves and spending time watching the turtles.

You can choose between one- or three-bedroom tents, and both options have sweeping views either across the ocean or to the distant Hajar Mountains. From the neutral tone of the canvas to the pops of seascape blues inside, the decor reflects the surrounding landscape, blending organically into the beach.
