Get an introduction to the cuisine and produce of the Black Forest by spending a morning exploring the local farmers’ market with your guide. You’ll get to sample treats, do some shopping of your own and learn about the local food scene as well as aspects of the square’s architecture, starting with the Gothic façade of Freiburg Cathedral that looms over the square.

The tour is three hours, and is only available between April and October, every morning except Sunday. At the end of the tour, you’ll head to a café where you can enjoy a glass of wine and the tastings you collected from the market while looking out across the square.
Your private guide will meet you in the morning at your hotel, before leading you to the farmers’ market situated on the cobblestone square surrounding the church. Some vendors will be happy to share samples with you, and your guide will advise you on what to buy and act as an interpreter to help you make purchases. The market ranges from spice and sausages to locally made crafts. After exploring the farmers’ market, you’ll head to a local café. There, you can sit back and enjoy your samples and purchases from the market with a glass of wine, while taking in the view of the cathedral.
