This great value resort sits on the west coast of the island on a quiet beach near Flic en Flac with views over Le Morne peninsula. It's also well placed for exploring the island with the beautiful scenery of Black River Gorges National Park within about an hour's drive.

Although it only has 91 rooms, the hotel has a surprisingly wide range of facilities with a great choice of dining and a variety of complimentary water sports.

This comfortable and welcoming resort offers great value and a handy location on the west coast that combines a lovely beach with the convenience of the wide choice of shops, restaurants and bars at Flic en Flac.

Rooms

The 91 rooms are spacious with fresh, modern décor and are set in three story buildings among the gardens. Each has a balcony or terrace and offer air conditioning, minibar, Wi-Fi and tea/coffee facilities.

Location

The resort is located at the southernmost end of Flic en Flac beach on the west coast. The soft, white sand beach overlooks the dramatic scenery of Le Morne peninsula and there is a swimming area sheltered by rocks.

Although it's within 5-10 minutes' drive of the shops, restaurants and bars of Flic en Flac it has a quiet location that feels quite secluded.

Food and drink

There is a great choice of dining for guests staying at the resort.

Tamarind Terrace is the main restaurant, open for buffet breakfast and buffet dinner, including international and local dishes, and meals here are included in the standard meal plan, however those dining at the other restaurants mentioned will receive a credit to put toward their meal.

Pink Peppercorn is set on the beach under the shade of a couple of trees with a view across the water to Le Morne peninsula. It's open for lunch daily and for dinner twice a week serving a variety of dishes, including fresh fish.

Spices is open for dinner serving an à la carte menu of Mediterranean dishes with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients while the Dolphin Bar set at the middle of the resort serves light snacks and drinks throughout the day.

Guests can also dine at three restaurants at the Maradiva Resort next door with the hotel's dine around option. Flic en Flac, a short drive away, offers a further wide range of dining.

Families

The hotel welcomes guests of all ages and families can use the children's club at Maradiva Villas Resort, a sister property next door. The club is open from 9am to 6pm for children aged 4-12 years. Babysitting is also available for a local charge.

Facilities and activities

As well as the beachfront pool there is a wide range of complimentary water sports including sailing, waterskiing, kayaks, pedalo, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, wakeboarding and glass bottom boat trips.

On land there are two floodlit tennis courts, a small fitness room, table tennis and bicycles are available for rental. Beginners' yoga and meditation classes are available for free while more advanced classes are charged locally.

For golf enthusiasts, the 18 hole Tamarina Golf Course is just 20 minutes’ drive away. Guests who would like to explore can walk through the woods to Tamarin Village about 45 minutes’ to the south.

The small spa is simple but smart with four treatment rooms where you can enjoy a range of treatments including Ayurvedic treatments. It also has a sauna and hammam that are free for all guests.

There is a PADI certified dive center at the resort. There is a range of 20 dive sites to explore, from sites for the novice to those more suited to experienced divers and night dives, an introduction to scuba and refresher lessons can also be arranged.

Local excursions

The hotel can arrange a variety of water based activities from sunset cruises and catamaran trips to big game fishing, and will be happy to help you arrange further trips to explore the island. With its west coast location, the resort is well placed for those who wish to explore Black River Gorges National Park and Chamarel, approximately an hour’s drive away.
