A 40 to 50 minute drive from the airport and a shorter drive to the old city of Muscat, the Shangri-La Al Jissah resort, the latest addition to the capital, offers the best of Omani hospitality and ultimate Arabian luxury. Comprising of three deluxe hotels, over 20 food outlets and an exhaustive range of 21st century leisure facilities the resort is a complete experience in itself. It is however the stunning location that is the immediate attraction of the Al Jissah. The dramatic backdrop of the deep red rocky interior mountains contrasts dramatically with the white sands and clear turquoise waters of the private bay, which is home to the resort.

The spacious Al Bandar Hotel is in the heart of the resort. Close to the white sandy beach, all of the luxuriously decorated rooms feature Moroccan style bathrooms, and are sea facing with a private balcony or terrace. The tall palms in the landscaped gardens provide welcome shade in the pool area, which connects to its sister hotel, the Al Waha. The hotel enjoys easy access to the beach as well as the Piazza center, Heritage village and all other facilities.
