One of our hand-picked accommodation options in Bohol, the Amarela was originally a private house but has expanded over the years to include an annex of additional rooms, with a total of 25 guest rooms now offered.
Guests may also stay in the Bohol House, a traditional wooden building set in its own gardens with a private pool. Built on a gentle hillside, the views from the main building of the Bohol Sea and neighboring islands are stunning. The private white sand beach is just a short walk from the rooms through lush natural gardens, with guests able to relax in the sun on hammocks and loungers or explore the tidal pools at low tide.
The property is built from repurposed wood in a quaint Filipino design, with plenty of natural light. The owner is an avid antique collector, and his exhibits are displayed throughout the hotel, including huge, ornately-carved wooden doors, old hardwood floors, handcrafted latticework, antique furniture and artifacts, as well as outstanding local sculpture, basketry and paintings, some of which can be purchased from the on site boutique.
