The entry-level Ubud rooms are light and airy, featuring a thatched balcony and a king size bed, while the Terrace rooms are smaller but have a four poster bed and French doors opening out onto a terrace overlooking the gardens. Water Gadren rooms boast an open-air courtyard complete with a water feature and seating area. Meanwhile, Pool Suites have their own plunge pool and sundeck with loungers for private relaxation, and the Uma Villa has a cozy lounge and dining room, a four poster bed in the bedroom and a terrace with sweeping views of the valley. There are also Uma Pool Villas, which have the additional benefit of a private infinity pool looking out to the jungle, while the opulent Como Villa has its own spa treatment area that can be turned into a second bedroom, an infinity pool with a sundeck overlooking the valley and River Oos, and a Jacuzzi in the bathroom.
Located just outside Ubud, Uma by Como retains a relaxed atmosphere while still offering ease of access to Ubud’s numerous restaurants, temples and markets via hotel shuttle. From the hotel’s hilltop vantage point, guests can also enjoy views over the Tjampuhan Valley and the River Oos.

Kemiri restaurant, which means ‘candlenut’ in Bahasa, has an open-plan layout and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Alternative dining options include Como Shambhala Cuisine, which serves light and healthy options, and Uma Cucina - an Italian restaurant and lounge bar where guests can socialize at a large communal dining table as they tuck in to hearty Italian dishes prepared using locally-sourced ingredients. There's also a poolside bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails along with a range of other refreshing beverages.
The property offers children’s versions of all activities, such as cooking classes, biking and temple visits, and its restaurant can tailor dishes to suit children’s tastes. Babysitting services are available for families with very young children.
Facilities and activities
Uma by Como’s Shambhala Retreat is a spa that offers four treatment rooms, a reflexology area, an open-air yoga pavilion with complimentary daily yoga classes, a steam room and sauna. There's also a 25 meter swimming pool, a gym, and complimentary guided walks offered each morning. Paid activities include hiking, biking, and visits to temples, festivals and artisan workshops. These experiences can be tailored to specific interests.
Environmental and social responsibility
The hotel only uses local ingredients in its restaurant, benefiting the local community and offering authentic tastes for guests.
We like the way Uma by Como relaxes guests by merging into its natural surroundings. The pathways weaving through the grounds mimic the style of a local village, so even when you’re at the hotel you retain a sense of location.
