Villa des Orangers

Marrakesh, Morocco

Villa des Orangers

Built in the 1930s and formerly a judge's house, Villa des Orangers deservedly enjoys a reputation as Marrakesh's finest riad. Enjoying a great location, just a short walk from the Djemaa El Fna, the beautiful, austere architecture offers a welcome respite from the madness outside. Traditional tadelakht (smooth earthen construction) walls are complemented by delicately carved alabaster surrounds and dark wood furnishings. In the courtyards, fountains gently burble, ruffling the rose petals on the water's surface, while orange trees provide an elegant, cooling shade.

The 27 rooms and suites are spacious, stylish and extremely comfortable, providing a mixture of old fashioned charm and modern facilities. Some of them have a private roof terrace, while the communal area on the roof has a small pool and enjoys a great view out to the Atlas Mountains. After a busy day of sightseeing, there is a luxurious spa area with a gym, hammam, pool and massage rooms.
