Treetops Lodge

Treetops Lodge, Rotorua, New Zealand

Only half an hour from Rotorua city, but located in 1000 hectares of native bush, Treetops Lodge is the ultimate in privacy. The lodge is the dream creation of its owner, based on elegant architectural style, derived from New Zealand's pioneering past. Timber and stone finishes echo the beauty and simplicity of the surrounding great outdoors. Eight separate villas are secluded within this stunning eco-wilderness park, with a further four suites in the main lodge itself.

The villas feature a sumptuous bedroom, spacious bathroom with spa bath, lavish lounge with fireplace and small kitchenette. The rooms within the lodge are slightly more modest, but have the added advantage of a separate communal living area and kitchen, opening out to views of the valley, making this a great option for families or couples traveling together.

The main lodge houses a timber-paneled library, with historic Maori artworks adorning the walls. Curl up here with a novel beside the blazing fire, or watch the swirling stream as it flows past the lodge. There is also a stylish games room, complete with antique billiard table and memorabilia from the pioneering days. The conservatory and courtyards provide perfect locations for enjoying the morning sun with your breakfast, and the chef provides a four-course menu each evening in the licensed dining room. To maximize your enjoyment of this beautiful location, many activities are available; there are seven trout streams, four lakes, over 70 kilometers of hiking trails, mountain bike riding, horse riding, archery and four wheel drive trips - you may never want to leave!
