Sun House

Located a short walk from Galle town center, this beautiful white villa was built in the 1860s by a Scottish cinnamon merchant. Set on a hilltop, the villa commands views of both the fort and port, whilst the garden itself is abundant with frangipani trees which lead the way toward the pool.

The seven rooms are elegantly furnished with jackwood antiques and four-poster beds. The sun house is well known for its fine dining. All standard rooms are en suite and air conditioned. Its 'Cinnamon Suite' has been named by Condé Nast Traveler as “the most beautiful room in the world”.

Our opinion: An exclusive place to stay which combines luxurious accommodation with excellent hospitality.
