Collect your rental car this morning and travel from Edinburgh toward Pitlochry, nestled just on the outskirts of the Cairngorms National Park. Along the way, stop at Scone Palace, one of Scotland's most historic stately homes and was once where the kings of Scotland, including Macbeth and Robert the Bruce, were crowned.

Continue into the national park by driving to Rothiemurchus Estate to spend the day enjoying the great outdoors.
