Rooms
There are 90 bungalows and rooms, each with an outdoor terrace and sun loungers. All have air-conditioning, television, DVD player and Wi-Fi.
The hotel rooms are simple with very little character and more suitable for those focused on budget. The beach and overwater bungalows are more reflective of the local style with dark wood and vaulted ceilings. The interior of each type of bungalow is similar with the location being the main point of difference between them.
Location
The Manava Beach Resort sits on the north coast of Moorea, sitting at the foot of a lush, green mountain on a small, narrow beach. The resort’s overwater bungalows are set in a line in front of the beach obscuring views of the sea but the focus in Moorea is more on the lush interior of the resort than the water. Maharepa Village is only five minutes’ walk from the hotel giving access to a couple of local restaurants, shops and a small supermarket.
Food and drink
Mahana'i Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with seating both indoors and outdoors. The Autera’a Bar next to the pool also offers light dishes and Polynesian specialties for lunch as well as drinks through the evening. There is a Polynesian musical group that performs on Wednesday and Friday evenings.
Facilities and activities
There's a pool at the beachfront, and the hotel has developed a coral nursery near the overwater bungalows where you can snorkel. There's also an 8 m (26 ft) drop off not far from shore, allowing you to see larger fish such as black tip reef sharks. A variety of activities are available, including snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, volleyball, badminton and table tennis.
Diving
There is a dive center at the resort that can help guests make the most of the great diving opportunities on offer at Moorea. There are a number of superb dive sites and the area has an international reputation for impressive shark numbers. It is also popular with humpback whales from July to October.
The ocean reef of Moorea has very developed corals, an ideal home for a variety of colored fish. There are a series of majestic underwater canyons and valleys for the pleasure of the divers. Moorea is also famous for its excellent visibility.
Spa Facilities
There is a small, simple spa set at the heart of the resort with three treatment rooms. A range of massages and treatments are available and there is also a steam bath.
