Named after Jerusalem’s historic Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, this small, modern, and laid-back hotel is located in Nachalot, the historic but now gentrified area that attracts artists and musicians to its leafy and residential streets. The hotel has 37 stylish guest rooms, all of which reflect its strong artistic influence and offer contemporary decor and bespoke artworks. The design theme continues throughout the hotel, with works by local artists showcased in the public spaces.
Elsewhere, you’ll find a communal breakfast area and a small, partially-covered outdoor courtyard. There’s also helpful staff who will assist with restaurant recommendations, a complimentary daily happy hour from 5pm to 7pm (except for Saturday), and free-to-use bikes for cycling around the city. Alternatively, if you prefer to explore on foot, the bakeries, cafés, restaurants, and numerous food stalls of Mahane Yehuda Market are just a ten-minute walk away.

We love the artistic references at this boutique hotel in Jerusalem’s Nachlaot area, a ten-minute walk from the Mahane Yehuda Market. It is also an intimate base from which to explore the city’s main sites.

Designed to reflect the hotel’s artistic influences, the 37 guest rooms spread across six floors are stylish and tastefully appointed. All feature contemporary decor, muted hues of grays and blues, beds dressed with white linens, and refined artwork. Modern amenities include flat-screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, and en suite bathrooms with showers and luxurious toiletries. Some of the classic rooms are available with a balcony or terrace.
Location
The central location makes it an ideal base for visiting the city’s sites, many of which are just a short taxi ride or a 15-minute walk away. You’ll also be a ten-minute walk from the famous Mahane Yehuda Market, a bustling spot filled with food stalls, bakeries, cafés, and restaurants. The hotel offers free-of-charge bicycles to use around the city.
Food and drink
While there is no on-site restaurant, a buffet breakfast with à la carte options are served daily in the communal dining area. The hotel hosts a complimentary happy hour between 5pm and 7pm every day except Saturday. There’s also a small, partially-covered outdoor terrace for summer drinks.
