Belmond Grand Hotel Europe

St. Petersburg, Russia

Russia's oldest hotel, the Belmond Grand Hotel Europe is something of a legend. A bastion of European culture throughout the years of communism, the Europe is located on Nevsky Prospect, opposite the Gostini Dvor luxury market.

Visited by Tchaikovsky and his wife for their honeymoon, a string quartet plays every Friday evening in the restaurant. Now under the renowned management of Orient Express Hotels, the Grand Hotel Europe boasts a level of excellence that has made it one of the 'Leading Hotels of the World'. Stroll out along Nevsky and find yourself alongside the Kazan Cathedral, Fontanka Embankment, or the Church of the Saviour on Spilt Blood.
