Hidden Ridge Resort

Hidden Ridge Resort

Banff, Canada

Driving up to Hidden Ridge Resort, you leave the small frontier town of Banff behind you and follow the road as it climbs up the leafy mountainside of Tunnel Mountain. With its log cabin-style apartments set among the trees, this property has a true Canadian feel.

From your cabin's patio or balcony or the property's two small heated pools you can gaze over the surrounding Rocky Mountain peaks, including Cascade Mountain, Mount Norquay and the Fairholme Range. Below is the lively town of Banff, which can be reached on foot or by taking the complimentary shuttle service. Inside your cabin, you can warm up beside the log-burning fireplace and cook your own meals in the full kitchen.

This resort offers good value, spacious self-catering accommodation away from the bustle of one of Canada's busiest destinations, but in close reach of the area's attractions.

Hidden Ridge Resort has a wide range of room types. The starting option is the spacious deluxe one-bedroom condo, which provides a full kitchen and living area as well as a separate bedroom with one or two double beds. For families or those wishing to enjoy the best views available, there is the option to stay in a one-bedroom condo with an upstairs loft, which can cater for up to eight guests. There are also premier rooms with a choice of three or four double beds and a pull-out sofa bed (maximum ten people). All rooms include a full kitchen, private bathrooms, living area, TV and free Wi-Fi, as well as a private patio or balcony.

Despite its secluded alpine location, Hidden Ridge Resort is easily accessible from all directions. It's a five-minute drive from Wolf Street, at the heart of Banff, or a 30-minute walk down a gentle gradient to the town. The accommodation also offers free bus passes for getting into Banff, which is a great way to avoid Banff's crowded roads and busy parking lots during the summer.

Food and drink

As guests have access to their own full kitchen and barbecues around the property, the Hidden Ridge Resort doesn't have an in-house restaurant. However, staff will be more than happy to point guests to their closest recommended restaurants or offer directions to the nearest supermarkets.

The resort offers several room types that can accommodate families, and self-catering facilities make it easy to cook family meals. Premier rooms also include a family games room downstairs; please speak to your specialist if you'd like to request this. The property has an outdoor children’s play area and complimentary DVD players are available with free rentals.

Facilities and activities

There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy your mountain surroundings without leaving the resort, with two outdoor hot pools, a sauna, barbecues and bicycle rentals all available for use. There's also plenty to do in the immediate area, such as hiking, white-water rafting and mountain biking.

Unfortunately, due to the design of the lodges, this accommodation is unsuitable for disabled guests.
