Lake Louise Inn

Lake Louise Inn

Lake Louise, Canada

The Lake Louise Inn boasts a fantastic location at the base of several mountains in Banff National Park. Bordered by vast green forests, the lodge offers an excellent base from which to explore the Rockies.

Rooms, suites and condos can accommodate between two and eight guests. They have a simple but warm style, and some benefit from their own kitchen, balcony or Jacuzzi tub.

When you’re not out and about enjoying the area’s wide range of activities, which range from hiking, horse riding and mountain biking to kayaking and white-water rafting, you can make use of the inn’s excellent facilities. Relax in the indoor pool and whirlpool. Enjoy delicious local meals in one of the three restaurants. Or, spend some family time playing board games. Complimentary bicycles are also available, making it easy to explore the town.

This is a good-value option in a popular area of the Rockies, offering varied room types to suit families and groups of friends. While slightly further away from the lakes than other properties, they’re still easy to access from here.

Although fairly basic, the inn has a good range of rooms, suites and condos to fit a wide spectrum of guests, from couples to families and groups of friends. Set in grounds surrounded by pine trees, the rooms are housed in five lodge buildings. All rooms have TVs and coffee makers, and en suite bathrooms. The condos also feature a kitchen with a stove/oven, dishwasher and fridge, as well as a lounge with a fireplace. Some of the larger room options come with a separate living area with fireplace, while others have a balcony where you can sit and take in the fresh mountain air.

The inn is just an eight-minute walk to the local shops and visitor information point in the village of Lake Louise. From the village, you can easily reach Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Kootenay National Park, and Johnston Canyon, along with many other natural highlights of the Rockies.

Food and drink

Lake Louise Inn has three restaurants to choose from, offering a good alternative to dining in the village. Legends offers breakfast and lunch buffets, the Timberwolf is renowned locally for its pizza, and the Explorers Lounge offers a casual dining atmosphere with weekly Canadian specials. If you’re staying over the weekend, The Gazebo offers an authentic Canadian barbecue every weekend around a campfire.

The Lake Louise Inn is a fantastic base for families during their stay in Banff National Park. As well as being able to take part in the diverse range of activities in the area, families can choose from a range of room categories to suit their size and budget, including self-catering options.

Facilities and activities

After hiking, cycling, kayaking and white-water rafting in Banff National Park, you can head back to the inn and relax in its heated indoor pool and whirlpool. The property also has a collection of board games that you can borrow, and complimentary bicycles for exploring the local area without a car. A shuttle service operates to the Lake Louise Sightseeing Gondola during the summer.

The inn’s ground-floor rooms and condos are positioned on flat, paved ground, but some of the upper-floor rooms don’t have lift access.
