Feel the winter wind bite at your cheeks as you traveling behind a powerful team of dogs into the old growth forest of the Callaghan Valley along a snowy trail. You’ll stop for a rest at an abandoned trapper’s camp on Totem Lake and learn about the history of the Canadian fur trappers.
Meet your small-group in downtown Whistler where’ll take a 20 minute shuttle to the adventure base in the Callaghan Valley. Here, you’ll meet your team of dogs, learn the dog sledding commands, how to harness the dogs and handle the sled with your professional musher guide. Get comfortable in your sled with a warm, waterproof cover before starting the adventure.
You can now relax and take in the alpine scenery as you ride the sled along a mix of open and winding trails. You’ll stop for a break to warm up at an old trapper’s cabin set alongside a frozen lake, where your guide will teach you the history of Canadian fur trappers and their use of dog sleds. On return to the basecamp, you’ll be taken by shuttle back to Whistler’s downtown. The trip is about three hours including the shuttles.
