Take to the skies above the Canadian Rockies to fly between the peaks and see sparkling lakes from above.
The Canadian Rockies is home to towering mountain peaks, an array of aqua lakes, and plenty of glaciers, and one of the best ways of seeing them all is from above. This 35 minute tour offers an opportunity to see the dramatic landscape from another angle, letting you fully absorb the scale of the mountains in and around Banff National Park.
Your flight takes off from Canmore Municipal Heliport at the base of the Three Sisters Peaks. You can either make your own way here, or take a shuttle from Banff. When you arrive, you can help yourself to a tea or coffee from the reception area, before sitting down in the briefing room to watch a short safety video about the correct way to approach and get into the helicopter.
This flight will find you soaring past the Three Sisters and into the Spray Valley, where you can spot the vibrant blues and greens of Spray Lakes. You’ll then head through the Goat Range Pass and along the snow-covered Sundance Range of Banff National Park, before approaching the ‘Matterhorn of the Canadian Rockies’. Mount Assiniboine rises to 3,611 meters (11,870 feet) along the Great Divide, and you’ll get an up-close look at the bright blue Gloria Glacier as it tumbles off the mountain.
Your return flight will provide views of the Bow River, which twists and turns back to Canmore. Your pilot will speak to you throughout the flight, pointing out and naming particular mountains, rivers and lakes.
