Set in beautifully landscaped grounds and with the beaches of Marari just a short stroll away, Xandari Pearl orientates itself around a simple, organic philosophy of comfort and relaxation.

The hotel itself has 20 villas, each with its own garden area equipped with hammock, outdoor shower, and a few with their own private plunge pool. Its gardens swell with vegetables and fruit saplings, paddy and banana trees, maturing all the time, whilst its all day dining serves delicious food with poolside views.

OUR OPINION:

A thoroughly relaxing stay in a lush and peaceful setting, Xandari Pearl is an excellent base to explore Marari beach.

Rooms

Xandari Pearl offers its guests three categories of room, the first of which is the Green Pearl Villa. These are clean and simple yet still include a large private garden, private dining area, hammock and chaise lounge, as well as an outdoor shower. The next category is the Blue Pearl Villa, which comes with its own private plunge pool, whilst the Pearl Suite includes a lounge area, as well as a private plunge pool and Jacuzzi.

Location

The hotel sits just 200 m from Marari beach, whilst maintaining a sense of privacy among its verdant gardens. Marari itself is a beach of slow-paced life where local fishermen ply their trade.

Food and drink

Coconut, mango and cashew trees surround the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant Pearl Spot, which looks out across the pool. The food on offer complies with Xandari’s farm-to-table culinary philosophy, with much of the vegetables and fruits used produced in the property's produce gardens. Fresh fish from local fishermen also fills the menu, and cookery demonstrations are available to guests looking for some local tips.

Facilities and activities

The property has a hot tub on the front lawn that guests can use to relax. The hosts offer complimentary transfers into Wanaka for dining (taxi on return).
