Paris

Global Travel Advisor

Influenced as I was by my travel-guide-obsessed pépé and pluricultural, bilingual upbringing, my passion for travel only really began taking shape the day I touched down in Indonesia, as an 18-year-old setting out on her post-A-level, pre-university solo adventure — gap year. Clichéd as it may sound, that experience — of falling in love, moment by moment, spot by spot, interaction by interaction, with a place so full of character and culture and potential for connection — was (and continues to be) life-changing for me.

Since then, I've sought and seized every opportunity available to me, and now, as a Global Travel Advisor, I get the absolute pleasure of sharing that passion with you as you look to embark on your next unforgettable trip with Audley.

Q&A with Paris

Rainbow Falls, Hawaii (Big Island)

What's your best piece of travel advice?

I was lucky to live and study in Vancouver for six months (with spring-break escapes to Ontario, Hawaii, and New York) and worked on a project in Argentina for a little over a month; both of those experiences pointed to the same truth: the real magic happens when you take a minute to appreciate the everyday of a place. So, slow down, breathe, observe, wander, connect, open yourself up, and give a destination the chance to reveal its soul to you — you'll thank yourself and, chances are, you'll find yourself wanting (and possibly even planning) to head back the first chance you get.

Tamales Salteños

What’s the best local dish you’ve tasted?

Tamales salteños. There's something about the way they do them in the north of Argentina — they’re like little parcels of pure joy. I've genuinely dreamed about teleporting back for a bite on more than one occasion.

Paris bungee jumping in Whistler, Canada

What's your most vivid travel moment?

Road-tripping through beautiful British Columbia in a Ford Explorer full of newfound international best friends, Spandau Ballet on full blast, breathtaking views at every turn… next stop: Whistler, where I'd face one of my biggest fears and bungee jump over a glacial-fed river. Standing on that platform, heart pounding, every trembling bone in my body screaming no, and then leaping anyway — it was exhilarating. And it taught me something that I've carried on every journey ever since: the best moments tend to live just beyond my comfort zone.
