Three Camel Lodge represents the finest accommodation available in the Gobi region, and has one of the best reputations of any establishment in Mongolia. Set at the base of a striking rock outcropping, the camp looks out over a vast plain that recedes as far as the eye can see. The camp is run with a view to comfort and Western-style conveniences — meals are served in a ger restaurant, whilst the Thirsty Camel Bar welcomes those in search of a refreshing drink.
The camp's 30 ger tents are well laid out, with good interiors and comfortable beds, and paved walkways leading to a spacious shared shower and toilet facility. The main lodge, with veranda overlooking the desert steppe, is the perfect place to watch the sunset, before paying audience to the evening performance of traditional music and contortionism, performed by the camp's small but talented staff — it can be quite a sight to see the person who served you dinner engaging in incredible feats of contortionism!
