Helen

Caribbean & cruise specialist

I started my career in travel in 2010, when I embarked on working on board cruise ships. I was incredibly fortunate to explore some wonderful parts of the world, such as Alaska, the Mediterranean, Canada and New England, Mexico, and, of course, the Caribbean, where I’m now a specialist.

During my almost ten years working onboard, I had the chance to immerse myself in each destination truly. Working within the shore excursions team really opened my eyes to the hidden treasures of these destinations and gave me a real sense of the culture, the food and the people.

After leaving my ship life in 2023 and hanging up my life jacket, I returned to what I love most: cruising. Now specialising in both ocean and river cruising, I’m passionate about helping clients get excited about their trips and taking the time to ensure each itinerary is the perfect fit. River cruising has a wonderfully unique feel — as busy or relaxed as you want it to be — and the ability to dock right in the heart of each city is simply fantastic!

Q&A with Helen

Mendenhall Glacier, Alaska

What's your most vivid travel moment?

It was, without a doubt, taking a helicopter tour in Juneau, Alaska, to see the ice fields. We landed on the glacier and stepped out into absolute silence. It was like being on another planet! The bluest ice I’ve ever seen.

Oistins, Barbados

Your best piece of travel advice?

If you're torn between two destinations, pick the one with the better snacks. Life is too short for bad food and boring trips. Also, don’t trust your friend when they say they know a shortcut. That’s how vacations turn into hikes.

Dining in Champers, Barbados

What’s the best local dish you’ve tasted?

I'm a total foodie and always try new dishes when I travel, but the one that stands out is some Barbadian flying fish with plantain! Delightful!
