Sustainability lies at the core of the camp, and the activities on offer reflect a respect for the natural environment. As well as exploring the dunes on camels or fatbikes, and whizzing down them on sandboards, you can go on guided nature walks, watch falconry demonstrations, and learn the art of archery, calligraphy, or stargazing. Additionally, you can and top or tail your day with guided dune-based meditation or yoga sessions.

Rooms
Drawing inspiration from traditional Bedouin camps, each room is tented, with a commitment to sophisticated sustainability. Eco-friendly materials and muted shades of desert hues prevail throughout, offering elegant beds, draped in soft linens, resting on wooden floors with natural carpets. Private en suite bathrooms lie to one side of the bedroom.
Spacious interiors lead onto a raised, decked outside seating area, under the shade-giving awning of every room. At night, the camp twinkles with fairy lights and traditional lanterns, illuminating the dark sands.
Location
Amar Luxury Desert Lodge is a 90-minute drive from both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and a private driver will take you from either city to a meeting point in the Empty Quarter desert. Here, you’ll swap into a 4x4, driven by camp staff, to take you the final 15 minutes across the undulating dunes to the remote retreat.
