Opened in 1953 as a state guesthouse and located in a grand building that blends French and Sino-Russian architecture with local style, the Sofitel Legend People’s Grand Hotel Xian is an attractive luxury property in the heart of Xian, an excellent base for exploring Xian’s famous sights.

The hotel’s fascinating history is on display in a little gallery off the main lobby. The hotel was tastefully renovated, making the most of its spacious rooms, lofty ceilings, elegant moldings and Art Deco features.

Guest rooms and suites here are elegantly furnished and well-equipped with modern amenities that enhance the hotel's character. Facilities include a first-floor swimming pool overlooking the gardens, a spa, an Italian restaurant with an outdoor terrace, and a Lobby Lounge serving cocktails, light snacks and afternoon tea.

The hotel has 44 luxurious guest rooms and 27 sumptuous suites. All have first class amenities including coffee maker, safe deposit box, en suite bathrooms with separate bath and shower, LANVIN toiletries and complimentary Wi-Fi access.

Location

The property is ideally located inside the ancient city walls, within walking distance of the historic Bell and Drum towers and the Muslim Quarter. It is a five-minute drive from Xian railway station and 40 minutes from Xian Xianyang International Airport.

Food and drink

Dolce Vita serves international buffet breakfast and offers a classic Italian menu for lunch and dinner. Guests can enjoy their meals in the stylish dining room or on the outdoor terrace. The Lobby Lounge is a lovely venue for wines, cocktails, light snacks and afternoon tea.

All suites and some guest rooms have interconnecting doors making them ideal for family use.
