Hôtel d'Aubusson

Paris, France

Located in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés quarter, just a short walk from Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Sainte-Chapelle, the Louvre and the Luxembourg Gardens, Hôtel d'Aubusson is a great base for exploring the city. The boutique-style hotel is housed in two buildings dating back to the 17th and 19th centuries and started its life as a private family home. Inside, it still retains a sense of elegant, old-world charm with its parquet flooring, exposed beams, tapestries and large stone fireplace.

Rooms feature fine patterned fabrics on the walls and upholstery, and views of either the inner courtyard or the traditional Parisian streets below. The hotel’s intimate Café Laurent was once a meeting place for literary figures such as Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre, and today holds regular jazz evenings.

OUR OPINION:

Ideally located in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Hôtel d’Aubusson is a boutique hotel with plenty of charm. We were impressed with its friendly service, its great little bar and the inner courtyard, which is a relaxing place for an apéritif after a busy day.

Rooms

The elegant rooms blend contemporary style with traditional comfort. The decor features calming neutral tones with a splash of earthy russet, warm yellows or eggshell blues in the plush cushions and bed throws. Patterned fabrics line the walls, some traditional toile de jouy, others bold and contemporary in style. Large windows offer views of the inner courtyard or the traditional Parisian cobbled streets below. Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, air conditioning and Nespresso coffee machines come as standard, as does a complimentary smartphone which is at your disposal during your stay and features unlimited 4G internet and calls to Europe and North America.

It serves drinks throughout the day and hosts jazz evenings with live music every Wednesday to Saturday night. While there isn't a restaurant on site, there are many options for dining in and around Saint-Germain-des-Prés, which staff will be happy to recommend to you.
