Set in the Ahuriri Valley, The Lindis is surrounded by conservation parks and panoramic views of the local mountain ranges and the Ahuriri River. As you drive toward the property, you will see only the roof blending into the hillside before walking into the exquisite building.

On the property there are five suites in the main lodge and three “Pods” that look out onto the river and mountains and includes comfortable double beds, bath and shower, and a comfortable sitting area both in and outside.

During the day, the activities manager can arrange guided tours from fly fishing to 4x4 tours around this expansive property, while at night you can enjoy a fine dining meal prepared by the in-house chefs.

Rooms

On the property you have three different room types to choose from. The Master and Lodge suites are located in the main building of The Lindis and have sweeping views of the Ahuriri Valley. Each of the suites has floor to ceiling windows that look onto the valley, a king size bed, a gas fireplace and an indoor and outdoor sitting area.

The pods are compact structures that are hidden among the landscape and out of sight from the lodge. They are made out of double-glazed mirrored glass on three sides and provide a totally private sanctuary. The room has an en suite bathroom, a king-size bed, a bathtub and an outdoor sitting area, along with access to all the hotel amenities.

Location

The Lindis is located a two-hour drive north of Queenstown and four hours south of Christchurch. From the lodge, you are a short drive from Mount Cook Village, Lake Tekapo, and the Clay Cliffs which all sit in the MacKenzie Valley. However, once you are at this property you won’t want to leave.

Food and drink

All your meals are expertly designed and prepared by the in-house chefs. The Lindis aims to source locally within the Waitaki region and choose seasonal produce as much as possible. Each meal is catered to your special dietary requirements along with likes or dislikes.

No meal will be the same during your stay, unless you love something so much that you want to have it again. Each dinner is matched with the extensive wine selections at the property.
