The Marine is the grand lady of Hermanus hotels. Guests have been coming to this imposing building, set on the edge of the cliff, for over a hundred years, and everything has been done to preserve the spirit and experience of those original guests.

In the public areas, the furnishings are chic and contemporary with a modern bar and comfortable, bright lounge with beautiful views, while the rooms are decorated in an English country house style, with lovely fabrics and dark wood furniture and an overall feeling of luxurious English colonialism.

Those with upgraded rooms will be treated to fantastic views over Walker Bay and, in season, may well see whales swimming off the cliffs just yards from the hotel. The hotel has excellent facilities including a solar-heated pool, boutique shop, travel desk, spa treatment and steam rooms, and two excellent restaurants.
